Magic - Illusion - Blister Effect

Have a friend make a rough tracing of your right hand on a piece of paper. Make sure that your hand is palm side up and your fingers are spread apart. Tell your friends that the drawing of your hand represents your actual hand. With your right hand out of view, preferably in your pocket, tell her to light a match and hold it over any finger on the drawing of your hand. As she's doing that, suddenly scream "Ouch!" Then smile and tell her that you were just kidding. She'll be amazed, though, when you show her your corresponding finger and the mean-looking blister her match has produced.

The secret to this effect is that in your pocket you have a key that has a perfectly round key-chain hole. Right after you divert your friend's attention by screaming "Ouch!", you press the key hard into the pad of the finger she's chosen. After a few seconds, the key's hole will cause a "blister" to form on your finger. If you're performing this for a person who's especially superstitious, you can add little details that will make the effect stronger.

David Blaine sometimes pulls a hair out of his head and places it on the drawing of his hand before that match is lit. It's a convincing touch for someone who believes in voodoo.
