Direct Hypnotic Suggestions
Direct suggestions are those that deal with the problem at hand or the specific response desired overtly and clearly. They are not known for the subtlety. Direct suggestions refer to the person's conscious experience a great deal, and they typically provide specific solutions to problems, along with detailed instructions about how to respond.
Commonly, to begin hypnosis, the hypnotist will want the person to close his or her eyes. If the hypnotist chooses a direct approach, he or she might offer any of the following direct suggestions:
Close your eyes. Please closer your eyes. You can close your eyes. Let your eyes close. I would like you to close your eyes.
